First and foremost, i love clothes and i personally shop alot myself. i love the flexibility of creating an image based off a particular style or trend in fashion.
Fashion has a sense of complexity that challenges me to make a statement in whatever i do…
You do truly inspiring and creative shots. What is your secret when photographing fashion models?
Thanks alot i really appreciate that! Honestly, there is no secret for me its more of a formula that i use.
I try to make a connection with the subject and communicate the end result i am looking for….
I use reference images from high end fashion magazines and i try to find ways to not only execute the ideal look but go above and beyond and recreate the concept in my own way! A lot of times with my sense of fashion it’s all about pairing the right clothes with the right location do wonders for an image.
Can you tell me about a project where you used your creativity in an unusual way?
Last year a hairstylist had this concept for an ice shoot and we were unprepared. All i had was glitter and so the make-up artist started doing a light blue look as i began shooting i just happen try out some powder, we tossed it in the air and it creates a foggy blizzard look and it came out amazing…as if we were in Alaska for real!
You obviously bring your heart and soul to your work. Can you give our readers some tips on to success in creative fashion photography?
Loving clothes comes with the territory so it is quite natural that you can sense my passion for it. Here is a tip: Having a stellar Glamour team is very important. A good makeup artist, a strong professional model, a creative hairstylist and wardrobe has to be very neat and in style!
What kind of a camera and lenses do you primarily use and how do you select your equipment?
Canon 5d mark ll 70-200mm 2.8L 50mm 1.2L & 35mm 1.4L. I love Prime lenses. Depends on the lighting situation. I shoot weddings, families, & Portraits as well so i tend to alternate but the 50mm 1.2L is my favorite
Can you name some tips for those who want to start taking inspiring fashion photos?
1.I would first subscribe with a popular fashion magazine and study it.
2. Finding the right wardrobe stylist that fits your style and who executes your vision.
3. Must be willing to invest in wardrobe for a shoot it makes the client feel special too..
